I don't think USA is particularly known for being too tough on our kids... in fact I think it's the opposite. This guy in the article went pretty far though.

I would agree seeing that this didn't take place in the US
You are right, in America we chain them to the floor in a dark cold basement.
Or we beat them with a fly-swatter until their kidneys shut down.
Or we give them cans of gasoline to huff.
Or we shake them until their necks break.
Child abuse in the US is rampant. Probably one of the worst.

Maybe his first problem is that his daughter is a daughter. Wonder if he'd've done the same thing to a son.

#11 - Fri Feb 10, 2012 8:34 AM ESTAgain with China? I just got through reading the article about the guy in China making his 4-year-old son stand in the snow in his underwear to "make him stronger". Is corporal punishment such a way of parenting life over there? Do they execute their kids when they are old enough to drive and borrow Dad's car?
